Nathan's compassion for God's people is clear and is experienced by many as he consults for local and state associations. His love for the local church is felt by the pastors that he spends time with, encouraging them in their faithfulness. Nathan has served on staff of both mega and rural churches. His wife describes him as an out-the-box thinker who is not afraid to fail forward and is eager to serve the LORD in every situation. Nathan is skilled in volunteer management, practices lifestyle evangelism, and has a very creative mind that is always looking to further the kingdom. On February 28, 2015, Nathan and Amanda committed their lives to each other and later added to their family through the adoption of their two sons, Elliott and Kaydon.
I am writing this letter to introduce you to Nathan Peterson. I have been a deacon at our Baptist Church for 19 years where Nathan served our church as head Pastor. I have known Nathan since 2021 and I would recommend him for the position at your church.
While serving at our church Nathan was an effective leader, even though he led our church, he knew his role was to serve God and those in the church. He gave credit to those that helped him achieve his missions and goals. Nathan has strong family values and taught us to care for our family and others in our church and community by giving and showing appreciation for God’s creation. Nathan was always respectful, no matter the situation. He respected people's time, opinions, and challenges. Nathan is a critical thinker and is very knowledgeable about business and finance. He had short and long-term visions for our church, he served our immediate needs while looking to the future needs of the church, people, and community. Nathan encouraged all of us to use the gifts we received from God and to use them to improve our church and serve the community. Lastly, Nathan is a good communicator, he has a vast knowledge of computers and marketing.
Nathan will be an uncompromising, active, joyful leader in your church.
I have had the privilege of knowing Nathan Peterson since 2011. I originally met Nathan when I served as pastor of Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church in Denison, TX. He served on staff with me as our Student Pastor. In just a short initial conversation with Nathan, I realized that he was not only a nice, outgoing person, but a man who loves Jesus with all his Heart. This commonality is what began a friendship in which I continue to value greatly today.
As the years have passed since first meeting Nathan, there is no doubt his spiritual journey continues to grow closer to Christ and is truly a man wise beyond his years. This foundation is what I believe is the driving force of his continued commitment to God. He is very knowledgeable, and I liked consulting with him anytime we faced challenging issues at hand when we served together on staff. If he does not know the answer, he knows how to find it. In my ministry career, I spend the majority of my time “answering questions”. When it comes to “Biblical” or “Spiritual” questions, I have seen first-hand that I can always count on Nathan to lead various ministry leaders, church members, and myself to “the Biblical answer”. He has helped me realize that it is very important to surround yourself with Christian men that can support each other (“Not just on Sunday’s, but daily”). Through advice Nathan has suggested in our ministry experience together, he has been an invaluable staff member that continues to help others focus on God.
In summing up the character of my good friend Nathan, I believe that it would be very appropriate to say that he is a living version of what Scripture calls for in being a faithful and fruitful ministry leader serving the Body of Christ. As our Student Pastor, he was, and continues to be today a great example of the man that we want all of our youth to become. Quite simply, he is a great role model and a relentless man of God.
Please consider Nathan for any open ministry position at your church. Through my years in serving in full-time ministry, I have had the privilege of working with hundreds of good, well-qualified, people on a consistent basis. I can honestly say that Nathan’s character, skill level, and talent is the standard for which we consistently seek, and he easily stands out above the rest. In my opinion, your investment in Nathan will be one that will pay dividends over and over again in the name of Jesus Christ.
It has been a blessing and a pleasure to know Nathan Peterson. I have found Nathan to be exuberant and enthusiastic in his responsibilities toward the church, humble in his approach to ministry, and at all times a student of the Word of God submitting to it as clay in the Potter’s hands. Nathan showed himself to be open, honest, and very transparent in multiple situations, as well as being dependable and hard-working to further the ministry as well as the other ministries of the church. Nathan’s overall attitude, demeanor, abilities, and creativity can be put to good use in almost any situation. I can say without hesitation that Nathan would be an asset in your organization.
